Officer Matthew Ortiz passed away on October 19, 2023, while off-duty.
Ortiz joined the Marine Corps in 2015 and served until 2019. He then joined the Los Angeles Police Department, where he worked for three years.
He also worked for the Grand Prairie Police Department in Texas before moving back to Southern California earlier this year and was hired with West Covina police Department.
We would also like to thank the West Covina Police Department and West Covina Police Officers Association for allowing us to hold a fundraiser for Officer Ortiz.
I would to extend my sincerest condolences to my friend, Frank Ortiz, the father of Officer Matthew Ortiz. I would also like to thank him for his continued support throughout the years and for reaching out to create a fundraiser. -Danny Arrona
